Big 4 HHH
|
Breakout candidates: Leah Sax (A - Uncommitted), Mackenzie McDonough (D - Uncommitted), Grace Hirschman (D - Uncommitted), Dakota Carter (M - Uncommitted)
Potential X-Factors: Haley Hunt (G - Committed to Stony Brook), Devon Whitaker (M - Committed to Virginia), Cameron Evitts (M - Committed to Penn State)
Play Style: Physical and fast
Quote to remember: “I'm never gonna change the style we play. We play aggressive defense, we pressure out to the 12 so my defenders can show themselves...On attack we look to move the ball fast and be smart lacrosse players.” - Colleen Magarity, Big 4 HHH Director of Operations, 2020 Head Coach
After winning three national championships as a player at Northwestern and coaching at Colorado, Magarity came back home and started HHH. With her 2020 team, she has an ultra-talented group that features a number of great athletes. Maddie Burns (committed to Michigan), a midfielder who also plays basketball is one of them and has grown into her body to become a force on defense. Along with her in the position group is Carter, who Magarity said “runs like a gazelle”, and Evitts, who Magarity compared to a bull. Helping to get the ball for them will be athletic defenders like McDonogh and Hirschman, who both have the ability to spark transition opportunities with their speed and ball handling. Their last line of defense is Hunt, who Magarity said averages around 12 saves per game for her high school team and will be key to HHH’s success this summer. Despite being the team’s top attacker, Sax has yet to commit anywhere to play collegiately but will likely find a home soon. She’s aided offensively by the likes of Caroline Burt (committed to Yale) and Kate Hartnett (committed to Navy), among others.
