Head Coach: Chris Garland
|
Juiced Cherries
|
Breakout candidates: Andrew Hyde (D - Uncommitted), Jackson Clay (A - Uncommitted), DJ Dixon (M - Uncommitted), Sam Bedich (FO - Uncommitted), Brody Baker (LSM/D - Uncommitted)
Potential X-Factors: John Schreiner (FO - Uncommitted), Quinn Armstrong (M - Committed to Lehigh), Mason Everly (D - Committed to Rutgers)
Playstyle: Quick, but not rushed
Quote to remember: “We have very coachable kids who love competing against the best club programs in the country. Our boys are committed to being great teammates and they love the game.” - Chris Garland, Cherries 2020 Head Coach
Garland took over the reigns of the 2020 team recently after finishing last season with the Cherries’ 2019 squad, and he’s inherited a close-knit group with talent across the board. Despite being uncommitted at this point, Clay is someone Garland is looking for to lead the Cherries’ offense, which will also feature the likes of Armstrong. They’ll be aided in their fast-paced play by a solid group of midfielders, as Jack Conry (committed to Utah), Bryce Gutowski (uncommitted), and Kieran Velasquez (uncommitted) are all players who Garland said have taken significant steps forward in their games recently. Everly is one of a handful of players on the team that have committed to play collegiately at this point, and will be helped out by Owen Bergin (uncommitted) on the other end of the field. Baker, an athletic long-stick middie, will also aid in the defensive effort in front of two goalies - Nick Tomalia (uncommitted) and Ben Ulery (uncommitted).
