Women's Transfer Portal is Heating UP!

2025 Women’s Lacrosse Transfer Portal Heating Up

The 2025 college lacrosse season has just concluded, but the transfer portal is already buzzing with action. Coaching changes, extra eligibility, and the allure of new opportunities are prompting some of the game’s biggest names to make moves. With top-tier talent entering the portal, this offseason is shaping up to be one of the most transformative in recent memory.

Clemson Makes Power Moves

Clemson has come out firing, adding two major names to its roster:

Maddigan Miller, M, R-Sr. (Stanford)
Career Stats: 36G, 13A, 54GB, 19CT, 7DC
A two-way threat, Miller brings experience and grit to the Tigers’ midfield.

Mikaela Mooney, A, Jr. (UAlbany)
Career Stats: 49G, 52A, 18GB, 5CT
A creative attacker with nearly equal scoring and assist totals, Mooney adds balance and vision to the Clemson offense.

Northwestern Snags Epke

With arguably the biggest get from the transfer portal so far, Northwestern has landed JMU’s longtime star Maddie Epke, one of the most decorated players in the country.

Maddie Epke, A/M, R-Jr. (James Madison)
Career Highlights:

  • JMU’s all-time leader in draw controls (485)

  • Top 10 in program history in goals (139), assists (74), and points (213)

  • JMU single-season record for draw controls (235 in 2025)

  • Single-game records: 8 goals, 23 draw controls

The Wildcats are adding a major weapon on both ends of the field as they look to avenge back-to-back NCAA title game losses.

Virginia Tech Reloads

Virginia Tech is also active early in the portal, adding talent that could make an immediate impact:

Sarah Murrell, M, So. (Old Dominion)
Career Stats: 43G, 5A, 18GB, 13CT, 80DC
The 2024 AAC Freshman of the Year brings explosive midfield play and draw control dominance to Blacksburg.

Paige Kawa, M, So. (Pittsburgh)
Career Stats: 2G, 13GB, 6CT, 1DC
Kawa is a gritty, defensive-minded middie with strong transition potential.

Coming off another successful season, the Hokies seem committed to building on their momentum.

Florida Loads Up with Grad Transfers

Florida has added two seasoned graduate transfers to bolster its midfield and draw units:

Boo DeWitt, M, Gr. (Dartmouth)
Career Stats: 30G, 14A, 11GB, 8CT, 11DC
Despite missing both her freshman and junior seasons, DeWitt proved to be a reliable two-way presence for Dartmouth when healthy. She brings veteran savvy and steadiness between the 30s.

Ava Kristynik, A/Draw, Gr. (Notre Dame)
Career Stats: 6G, 1A, 60 DC
Kristynik emerged as Notre Dame’s draw specialist in 2025, notching 50 draw controls after returning from a junior-year injury. Her impact at the circle will be key for the Gators.

After back-to-back Final Four runs, Florida hopes these experienced additions can help push the program to its first NCAA title game appearance.
