Summer Genesis High School Preview

With summer lacrosse kicking off last weekend for most teams, we're heading into arguably one of the biggest—if not the biggest—tournaments of the season: Summer Genesis. This highly anticipated event draws dozens of college coaches, all scouting for the next big star. Let's break down the high school division, which features key rematches and top teams battling for a boost in the national rankings.

2026 Division

The Hellacious Bracket is poised to live up to its name. All 10 teams are ranked in the Top 20, and several are heading into rematches from last weekend’s tournaments.

Eagle Stix (#15) will look to even the score against NXT Black (#7), who took the win at Live, Love, Lax with an 8–4 final.
Hero’s Green (#5) and Long Island Jesters Black (#12) ended their previous meeting in a tie—both sides will be eager to settle the score.
The Jesters also get a rematch with NXT, who’ll be seeking revenge after a 6–9 loss.
In another anticipated rematch, M&D Black (#2) will face Sky Walkers Blue (#17). Last time, it was a tight 1-goal game at halftime before Sky Walkers fell into card trouble, eventually losing 3–8.
The bracket also includes strong foes in #13 Alliance National, #6 Florida Select, #11 BBL Black, and #1 Long Island Top Guns Black, who went undefeated last weekend at Northeast Summer.

From outside this bracket, #9 CT Grizzlies Navy and Integrity Green (who notched a huge win over NXT last weekend) headline the Fantastic Bracket. With so many powerhouses meeting head-to-head, expect big shakeups in the rankings.

2027 Division

The Amazing Bracket lives up to its title, featuring all Top 20 teams and numerous rematches from Live, Love, Lax.

M&D Black (#1) will seek redemption against Yellow Jackets Stadler (#3), who pulled off a 2-goal win in a tightly contested battle last weekend.
Eagle Stix Blue (#4) looks to rebound after a tough showing (1–2 last weekend), with rematches against the Yellow Jackets (L 3–9) and Triple Threat Elite (#11)—their lone win (9–2).
Hero’s Green (#6) will also see familiar faces, with matchups against both Triple Threat (W 7–2) and Long Island Jesters Black (#8), whom they tied last weekend.
Triple Threat has one more rematch lined up—against the Jesters—looking to bounce back from a tough 9–0 shutout.

Other top contenders in this bracket include #2 Aces Elite Upstate, #5 Alliance National, #9 Prime Time, and #7 HHH Philly, who were undefeated at Northeast Summer.

The Beyond Bracket features more Top 20 squads, albeit without rematches:

Laxachusetts Black (#12) aims to bounce back after going 0–3 last weekend.
Long Island Top Guns Black (#15) and Florida Select (#13) will meet for the first time this summer.
Philly Blast Courage (#19) and NXT Black (#17) round out this competitive group, both looking to gain momentum.

2028 Division

The 2028 schedule is more spread out, with three brackets—each featuring five Top 20 teams—setting the stage for wide-open competition.

Absolute Bracket

This is likely the strongest bracket of the age group, packed with high-stakes rematches:

Eagle Stix Blue (#1) will face MD United East (#9), who they defeated last weekend, and Coppermine Black (#10), who held them to a tie.
MD United East also has a score to settle with Coppermine after a prior loss.
Alliance National (#6) and Team 180 (#14) add further depth to this group.

Beyond Bracket

Though it lacks rematches, this bracket brings elite-level competition:

Teams include Prime Time (#2), M&D Black (#7), Aces Elite Upstate (#11), HHH Philly (#18), and Long Island Legacy Blue (#20)—all expected to make noise.

Crushing Bracket

Fittingly, Crush MD (#13) headlines this bracket and will rematch Long Island Jesters Black (#17), who they bested last weekend.

Also in this group: Hero’s Green (#4), Laxachusetts Black (#19), and Sky Walkers Blue (#16).
