Savannah is a reliable defender. She demonstrates great field awareness recognizing when to slide to ball and back to her player. Her anticipation of where the ball is going helps gain her multiple interceptions or knockdowns. She displays high Lax IQ when running a backer defense as she keeps her head up and slows the opponents’ pace by forcing errant passes and multiple caused turnovers. She does a great job of getting her stick in the passing lane on settled defense as well on 8-meter shots to disrupt the rhythm of the offense. Savannah plays a pivotal role in clearing the ball with her quick footwork and utilizing both hands to help transition it swiftly into the offensive end. She will continue to improve upon her defensive stance in her 1v1 matchups by popping her hip up to the player forcing them towards her help and preventing the rollback of her opponent getting a step on her.
