Quote to remember: “We're a little bit low in numbers, but they're definitely really tough, and they're a close team, and they really know how to work hard and fight out games.” - Melissa Diepold, Sky Walkers 2020 Head Coach
Despite fighting a handful of knee injuries, Sky Walkers will be a tough out on the club circuit this summer. Diepold, a former Sky Walker herself, said she owes a lot to the program for developing her game and ultimately helping her play at current-National Champion Maryland. Two key attackers in Little and Hall will not only lead the offense, but the Sky Walkers team as a whole. While Little is great at knowing where to place the ball and finding openings in the defense, Hall is the “quarterback of the offense.” Because of Hall’s athleticism, we may see her at the draw control circle more often this summer in addition to her elite scoring. Pirisino is also great off the draw and thanks to her quick first step, often beats defenders 1 on 1. Her improvement of late has her set to pace the midfield, while Diepold pointed out a pair of players to do so on defense. They’re Joyce, who slides well and is great in the clear, and Chmielewski, who is super fast as well as a vocal a leader on the team. In goal for Sky Walkers is Patrick, who will usually start games, and Lexie Coldiron (committed to Lafayette), who’s dynamic and often comes out of the cage to intercept passes.
