Coaches Comments:
- Bob Healy, Salesianum School Head Coach: "Relentless with a great motor -Outstanding between the lines -Dangerous in transition with very good speed -Great stick a ground ball machine all over the field -Very tough strong and physical can play close defense -Coachable and athletic"
- Paul O'Grady, 2021 Mesa Lacrosse Head Coach: "A relentless in-between-the-lines LSM - off the the wing on a face-off or settled defensive situations. Unique ability to secure ground balls under pressure and to create unsettled offensive possessions. With his recently improved size and strength, Dom has become a tenacious on ball defender. Without question, an impact player at the next level"
- Goran Murray, Phantoms LC Director and Tatnall School Head Coach: "Dominic Rottura is a standout defenseman and a four-year starter at Salesianum School in Delaware. Lights out speed with phenomenal stickwork along with the ability to play long stick and close defense. He shows a disciplined work ethic on and off the field, playing multiple sports at the varsity level while maintaining a cumulative 3.9 GPA. He has a keen attention for detail, understanding advanced level techniques and systems, making him extremely coachable. Dom is versatile in being able to move all around the field while also being a high-level offensive threat in transition and man-up situations. He shows similarities to Micheal Pelligrino (JHU '15) and Stephen Jahelka (Harvard '15) with his intensity, grit, size, and play style.
Teammate Comments:
- Matt Riley (Georgetown Commit): "Having started together since our freshman year, I can proudly say Dom is the best teammate I’ve ever had. On the wing, he is the long-stick midfielder every Faceoff specialist needs. He can pick up the tough ground balls and also effectively communicates to me which exit is best in a given situation. On defense, he is a lockdown defender who can dispossess the best player on the opposing team. Though what separates him from other players is his work ethic in the off season. Everyday, we are either in the weight room together, or on the field working 1v1’s and wing plays. He has made my teammates and I better lacrosse players.
- Chris Wong (Hopkins Commit): "Dom is a natural athlete and is a great player and teammate. He is a leader on our team and always plays at 100%."
- Henry Tarry, (Middlebury Commit): "He’s a hard-nosed player with an edge. Always willing to bet his nose dirty for a ground ball and always playing at high speed. Very good in the open field."
