Sweetlax Upstate NY (2027) has officially claimed the top spot. After weeks of dominant performances and back-to-back undefeated tournament runs, they’ve overtaken the competition and are now ranked #1 in the nation. With a perfect 12–0 record across their last two events, a 99.89 rating, and a growing list of wins over nationally ranked teams, Sweetlax has proven they’re not just contenders — they’re the team to beat.

Their path to the top included a statement run through the PRIME TIME SUMMER H.S.
INVITATIONAL, where they took down Legacy Gators (13–4), Predators Lacrosse (10–8),and DC Express Black (13–8) in pool play. In bracket play, they continued their tear with a gritty 6–4 win over #19 Leading Edge, a convincing 10–6 victory against #3 Laxachusetts Black, and an 8–6 championship win over #11 Prime Time.
They followed that performance with another 6–0 finish at the 2025 Sweetlax Summer
Challenge. Sweetlax dominated in every phase, beating NH Tomahawks Purple (13–2),
Clippers (13–4), and #22 Mad Dog East (10–6) before running through the bracket with wins over #16 Prime Time (8–4), #5 Colorado Kings Elite (9–6), and an emphatic 14–3 blowout of former #1 Next Level Blue, now fell to #4. In those two weekends alone, they outscored opponents 137–64, never allowing more than 8 goals in a single game.

Fueling this historic run is James Holbrough, the #3-ranked player in the NLF and a true 5-star force. Holbrough has been electric—combining elite vision, creativity, and control to lead one of the most potent offenses in the country. Now, the newly crowned #1 team turns its focus to the North American Lacrosse – 2025 Summer H.S. Invitational (June 28–29 in Frederica, DE). They’ll open with Express North 2027 Black, take on a tough #14-ranked Crabs 2027 squad, and close pool play against Legacy Gators, a team they beat earlier this summer but can’t overlook.
