Prime Time HS Re-Cap!

PrimeTime Recap
The sidelines at Yale’s West Campus this weekend were absolutely packed—not just with fans and families, but with some of the top Division I programs in the country. Coaches from powerhouses like Notre Dame, Penn State, Cornell, Michigan, Villanova, Syracuse, North Carolina, Ohio State, Rutgers, Virginia, Harvard, and more were on hand, clipboards in tow,
watching every rep, every ground ball, and every off-ball cut. The sheer amount of talent on display—from polished national contenders to breakout underdogs—made it clear that this event was loaded with future college standouts.

2026 Division
#24 NH Tomahawks Purple were the story of the weekend. They went 3–0 in Pool B, knocked off #9 Leading Edge 7–6 in the semifinals, and edged #6 Annapolis Hawks 6–5 in the championship. They allowed just 14 goals in 4 games and walked out of New Haven with their stock soaring.
#6 Annapolis Hawks Green did what they were supposed to do. They won their pool, beat a tough Thunder Blue squad 6–5 in the semifinals, and came up just short in the final. They’ll rise in the rankings after a strong 3–1 showing.
#9 Leading Edge handled pool play and pushed NH Tomahawks to the brink in a 7–6 semifinal loss. They’ll stay firmly inside the Top 10.
#47 Thunder 2026 Blue was a surprise Pool A winner and nearly reached the final, falling 6–5 to Annapolis. They went 3–1 and made a name for themselves in front of a lot of recruiters.
On the flip side, #2 Laxachusetts Black, #5 Team 91 LI Storm, and #10 BBL Black all failed to make bracket play. Each team entered the event with high expectations but will need a bounce-back performance to steady their summer campaigns.

2027 Division
#2 Sweetlax Upstate proved they’re the real deal. After winning Pool A, they rolled through bracket play with a 9–5 semifinal win over #6 Team 91 LI Machine and an 8–6 victory over Prime Time in the final. Their +24 goal differential was the highest of any team in the entire
tournament.

#19 Prime Time 2027 was a breakout team. They won Pool G, upset #4 Laxachusetts 6–4 in the
semis, and gave Sweetlax a real fight in the final. They’re firmly on the radar now.
#4 Laxachusetts Black looked strong all weekend, winning their pool before falling in a close semifinal. A 3–1 finish won’t hurt their ranking.
#6 Team 91 LI Machine was sharp in pool play and ran into Prime Time in the bracket. They’re still one of the most complete teams in this age group.
#3 Team Ten and #9 BBL Black didn’t make it out of their pools, while #36 Thunder Blue impressed with a 3–1 weekend after winning Pool F. Big upward momentum for them.

2028 Division
#9 Leading Edge 2028 was the most dominant team in the field. They won Pool C, crushed #10 DC Express 11–5 in the semifinals, and capped it off with a 9–4 win over #8 BBL Black in the title game. Their +31 goal differential was unmatched.
#8 BBL Black 2028 looked sharp through pool play and edged Laxachusetts Black 7–6 in OT during the semis, but couldn’t keep up with Leading Edge in the final. Still, a solid Top 10 squad.
#34 Laxachusetts Black turned heads by winning Pool A and nearly reaching the final. An overtime loss in the semis won’t overshadow what was a breakout weekend.
#10 DC Express Black reached the semifinals after a strong run but had no answer for Leading
Edge’s speed in transition.
Thunder Blue (Pool E) and Legacy Rush Red (Pool F) posted strong 2–0–1 records and advanced to bracket play. Meanwhile, #7 Sweetlax Upstate and #13 Express North failed to get out of their pools—a tough result for two teams with high expectations.

Pool Prediction Recap
Here’s how my pool picks turned out:
● 2026: Got 3 right, missed 4

● 2027: Got 6 right, missed 1
● 2028: Got 3 right, missed 3

Final tally: 12 correct out of 20 pools (60%), with 2 of 3 champions predicted correctly
(Sweetlax 2027 and Leading Edge 2028). The only real curveball? NH Tomahawks Purple
coming out of nowhere to steal the 2026 crown.

From under-the-radar risers to dominant ranked teams holding their ground, the Prime Time
Invitational once again delivered one of the most competitive weekends of the summer. With
dozens of D1 coaches on hand and rosters stacked with talent, this event wasn’t just about
wins—it was about exposure, growth, and making the kind of noise that gets you noticed. Some
teams did just that—and some have work to do the next time they hit the field.
